My friend from Middle School who is also a librarian just got promoted and told me he wanted me to apply for his old position, which has like an actual good salary and with his recommendation I have a fair chance of getting it but I don’t want to move away from Athens because I love it so much and it’s the only town I have ever really loved, also replacing me in my lease would be a pain and I am just stressed out! The only reason I am considering it, besides the money factor, is that I would actually like this job. I would be in charge of childrens and teen sections and all events. It would be really fun and keep me very busy. I know this would be a much smarter move for me financially, and for my career, and it’s not very often when a person just basically hands you a job with a huge pay increase… But also, I don’t like the city (near Myrtle Beach) and blehhhhh I just don’t know! Am I stupid?

You should at least apply for it and then decide whether or not to take it. Even if they offer the job to you, you don’t have accept it. For now, it’s a good idea to keep that option open, just in case.
