I recently learned that some people view passive as a negative trait which seems insane to me. Im pretty sure I am viewed as very passive but the truth is, I just pick my battles carefully and realize that the more I yell, scream, cry, get upset, etc… the less likely I will be able to make my point. Sometimes people wonder why Im so nice, like its abnormal which maybe it is (probably) but the truth is, I just feel really amazing when people I care about do kind things for me so I try to give others that feeling as often as possible. I wasn’t always like this. I used to be a complete jerk to anybody who didn’t take my side on any issue whether that be political or personal, I just couldn’t stomach to look at someone who -for example- didn’t believe in gay marriage. I literally just couldn’t handle it.. but now that I have learned the art of letting things roll off me, I have been able to make actual headway when in a conversation with people about things I care about. Even if I never convince them fully, they usually come around to see my side as a valid choice. And validity isnt a bad start. So despite what others choose, I feel my kindness and passive nature brings the world as a whole more good then any yelling as a means to stick up for myself ever could.
